Each of these actions will take under an hour:
Write an entry for a blog you read
Help get the word out to new groups online by writing a post for a blog. It could be your own blog, or a blog you read regularly. Many political blogs accept submissions (here are some examples). Good posts are entertaining to read and tie in recent news. Let us know you helped: please email a copy of your post to info@just6dollars.org.
Write an entry for OUR blog
We'd love to feature your work. Write a snappy, relevant piece about public funding or the general issue of money in politics and we might publish it on the official Just $6 blog! Just email your post with the subject "Blog submission" to info@just6dollars.org.
Newspapers are still one of the best ways to inform your community about the promise of publicly funded elections and the Fair Elections Now Act. -- Take a stand by writing a letter to the editor. We'll walk you through writing the letter and provide the addresses of local papers that you can send it to.
Meet with your Representative or Senator
Believe it or not, Members of Congress actually love visits from their constituents. If you can't make it to Washington DC, you can also stop by their local district office. Call ahead first to see when your representative is in town. You can get phone numbers and addresses here.
Please let us know how it went! Email info@just6dollars.org when you get home.
Create a video or podcast
Get creative! Click here for some examples. Email us your creation at info@just6dollars.org and we might feature it on the homepage!
Surprise Us
Some of the best stuff we've seen was emailed to us out of the blue by a supporter. Write a paper for your class? Convince a friend? Whatever you've done for publicly funded elections, we want to hear. Email us at info@just6dollars.org and fill us in.
Become a Precinct Captain
Have you already done everything above? Ready to take it to the next level? Email us at info@just6dollars.org and we'll discuss how you can pick up the torch and help lead the way to fair elections nationwide. We'll work with you to identify how you can use your unique talents, experience, and community ties to further the cause.
