Who We Are: Our Management Team
John Rauh, FOUNDER and PRESIDENT
John Rauh is one of the country’s leading authorities on election reform. Former Senator Bob Kerrey has said, “No one understands the ins and outs of public funding better than John. When John speaks people should listen.”
John joined Clopay Corporation in 1961, serving as its Chief Executive Officer from 1975 to 1985. In 1992, he was the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate from New Hampshire. He has served as a board member of Common Cause, and has been active on the boards of numerous civic and educational organizations, chairing the board of the Children's Alliance of New Hampshire.
John served as President of Cincinnati, Ohio's independent political party, the Charter Committee, from 1969 to 1975. He received his AB and MBA degrees from Harvard University, and was a fellow at the Kennedy School of Government.
Nick Mitchell, VICE PRESIDENT | COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
Nick is a graduate of The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, NJ and Boston University, where he earned a BA in Economics. He is the Founder of MC2, Inc., a marketing and strategic planning firm. Nick has developed marketing strategies and advertising campaigns for a diverse group of clients including Agfa Corporation, Anheuser-Busch, Bitstream, Caterpillar Tractor and GTE/Sylvania. He has also managed communications and media relations for several Senate and House campaigns.
Rob Werner, NATIONAL FIELD DIRECTOR
Rob is a graduate of the University of Vermont and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Suffolk University. A public policy analyst and advocate, Rob has organized successful advocacy and legislative campaigns for the American Heart Association, Smoke-Free NH Alliance, and the American Cancer Society. Rob lives in Concord, NH with his wife Mary Ann, and serves on the Concord City Council.
Daniel Weeks, POLICY DIRECTOR
Daniel graduated with honors in Political Science and International Studies from Yale in 2006. As founding director of Students for Clean Elections in Connecticut, he was instrumental in successful campaigns to enact New England's first municipal public funding ordinance for New Haven's mayoral elections and the first state legislature-approved public campaign finance law for Connecticut. His senior thesis on federal campaign finance was published in Columbia's Journal of Politics and Society. Daniel is currently completing an MPhil. in Political Theory as a Marshall Scholar at Oxford.
Matt Stempeck, OUTREACH DIRECTOR
Matt graduated from the University of Maryland with High Honors, where he wrote a thesis on the evolving role of blogs in political communications. Matt has worked as a Production Assistant for OnPoint, a groundbreaking webcast program and Capitol Hill's leading source of energy and environmental news. At EchoDitto, Matt leveraged cutting edge technologies to empower online communities and create lasting offline change on behalf of Americans for Campaign Reform, the SEIU, Seventh Generation, Rock the Vote, Genius Rocket, and Brighter Planet. Matt also hosts a popular monthly Netsquared event in Washington DC that brings together innovators from the tech and nonprofit worlds.
Erik Schneiderhan, DIRECTOR OF MAJOR GIFTS
Erik is a graduate of Dartmouth College, earned a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University, and is currently in the final year of a doctoral program in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He has worked on a variety of local and statewide campaigns in New Hampshire and served as a policy analyst for the New Hampshire House of Representatives. As a fundraiser, Erik has experience and success raising money from individuals and foundations in a variety of contexts, including politics, the non-profit sector, and academia.
Pam received her BA in Organizational Communications from Eastern Montana College. She has worked for National Public Radio and Northwest Airlines. Prior to joining Americans for Campaign Reform in 2005, she was Director of Admissions for New England School of Law.
